Every summer when I was home during college and then my early 20s, I would make ribs at least once a summer. It was a summer staple in my house.   2. 1.5 tbsp Sweet Paprika
  3. 1 tbsp Light Brown Sugar

  7. Pinch Cayenne Pepper (Optional)

  1. Coat the pot of the slow cooker with the vegetable oil.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the paprika, brown sugar, black pepper, garlic powder, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Evenly rub the mixture all over both sides of your ribs.
  4. Arrange ribs in the slow cooker by standing them up against the wall of the pot, thicker side down and meaty side against the pot.
  5. Slowly pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs.
  6. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours on low. For us, 7 hours was perfect.
